May 2020
Words from Mr.Cisneros
On Friday, March 13th, 2020, we entered a pandemic due to COVID-19. This world event has affected everyone from various walks of life. Unfortunately for The River City Regiment, we had to cancel all our performances, class sessions, and any in person celebrations. Indeed, this is a difficult reality to face as The River City Regiment continued demonstrate growth throughout the first few months in 2020. Our Big Band made extreme strides by receiving Unanimous Superiors at the Folsom Jazz Festival and Woodcreek Jazz Festival with several students receiving music awards for their musicianship. Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble were taking great strides to have a great festival season only to have it get abruptly ended before we had the opportunity to show what River City Music had to offer. While I reflect on the year that The River City Regiment had, I cannot forget to acknowledge all the individuals that made the second year of #TheProcess even more successful than the first. To all the RC Music Boosters, band parents, alumni, volunteers, and Regiment members, I thank you. Everyone had a role to play this year and we achieved goals we set out for ourselves. For those that are leaving The Regiment and are graduating, thank you for being a part of #TheProcess. Know that while things are uncertain for the future, you did your part to help bring #RCRALLDAY alive. The Regiment will grow and your contributions will be remembered for years to come. For those returning, NOW is the time to step up. Shoes have been left to be filled and it is up to you to continue forging the path of excellence left by the graduates.
Now, I cannot fathom the emotions that the Class of 2020 must feel. Nothing will ever replace the celebratory events that come with graduating high school. Nothing will replace the feeling of being the first to graduate from their families. I wish nothing but the best for the Class of 2020. The future is theirs and they will rise and face each challenge head on. To our Class of 2020 Regiment members, always remember your band family and cherish the memories you made in high school. Maintain communication with those closest to you as they will be the individuals you will need to lean on to forge through moving forward. Now, go be great!

July 2020
It is our unfortunate duty to announce that we cannot hold our annual Summer Band Camp this year. With COVID 19 cases rising in our county, we cannot properly hold in-person events and put students and families at risk. However, we will have a Virtual Band Camp that will replace our annual in person one. We hope that our Virtual Band Camp serves as a good experience to prepare everyone for virtual learning and to continue developing the family aspect for our program. Our Virtual Band Camp will occur from August 3rd-7th. Workshop times and dates will be released by next Wednesday, July 29th. Let The Process continue!

April 2021
Welcome to The River City Regiment's website. Tons of exciting new developments have been happening within our program! These post will hopefully bring you up to date with everything that we are looking forward to. Remember to be safe out there!
Pep Band aka Cohort Band has been making major strides.
Since February, our Cohort Band has been working hard to practice in a socially distanced environment. In March, we were allowed to start using our instruments to make music. Toward the end of March, we had the opportunity to perform at our 2 home football games to the joy and delight of all our participating members. It was great performing for a crowd once again! Since then, we have been working to expanding our setlist for future events. Catch us performing at the Class of 2021 Cap and Gown Pick-Up on May 1st!
The Symphonics, Wind Ensemble, and Big Band are back in person!
Recently, River City High School has made the transition to Hybrid Learning. With that, we have had the opportunity to resume our In-Person(during the school day) band classes. While we cannot play indoors, we have been making incredible strides to get back up to speed from the comfort of our Band Lot. The Symphonics and Wind Ensemble both will have In-Person class twice a week and will be preparing for future events that will be highlighted later in this post! Big Band has also returned to In-Person practice on Wednesdays! Welcome back Raiders!
Regiment+Football+Cheer Senior Night.
On April 30th(pending sports activities), we will be hosting an In-Person Senior Night for our Senior Band members along with our football players and Cheer! Seating will be limited to family. You will also see a small performance from our Regiment Pep Band! This event will be livestreamed to accommodate for the limited seating.
Circle the date! Thursday, May 27th!
On May 27th, we will be hosting our annual End of Year Band Concert. We look forward to bringing this tradition back! What can you look forward to? You will be able to see all our ensembles performing from the heart of our campus. You'll hear the Pep Band, Big Band, Symphonic/Wind Ensemble Combined Band, and our Colorguard. Not only that but you will also be able to see Band Awards, Scholarships, Drum Major + Leadership Team Reveal, and Class of 2020 + 2021 Inductions into the Regiment Wall of Fame! Seating will be limited to current band families(2 to 3 per). This event will be livestreamed to help accommodate for our limited In-Person seating. We cannot wait to have a band concert for the first time in about 15 months.
